A small open faced quarter repeating pocket watch, circa 1815-1830, the gilt dial with engine-turned centre and black Roman numerals, unsigned movement with cylinder escapement, the quarter repeater activated by depressing the crown, the case with three colour gold foliate and scroll decoration with garnet and turquoise accents, lacking glass, diameter 43mm. £300-£500

Although this type of three colour gold scroll decoration typically dates to the 1830s, there is a very similarly decorated watch, made by the firm Moulinie Bautte & Moynier, on display in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, dated to 1809-21.
