Memorial Plaque (Thomas Drinkall) in card envelope of issue, good very fine £80-£120

Thomas Drinkall was born in Barrow and attested for the King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment at Fleetwood, Lancashire. He served with the 1st Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 22 June 1915, and was killed in action on the first day of the Battle of the Somme, 1 July 1916, on which day the battalion was in an attack between Beaumont-Hamel and Serre. He has no known grave, and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France,
