Delhi Durbar 1911, silver (No 5596 Pte Salmon 10th Royal Hussars) contemporarily impressed naming, ‘H’ of Hussars double-struck, good very fine £60-£80

Albert Salmon, a native of Nottingham, attested for the 10th Hussars and served with them in India, being present at the Delhi Durbar in 1911. He transferred to the Army Reserve on 21 March 1912, but was recalled to the Colours following the Great War, and served on the Western Front from 22 August 1914. He was killed in action at Arras on 11 April 1917; he has no known grave, and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial, France.
