Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, dated reverse, 1 clasp, Tel-El-Kebir (14134 Driv: J. Beal. D/1. Bd.....) suspension claw re-pinned; Army L.S. & G.C., V.R., 3rd issue, small letter reverse (14134. Gunr. J. Beal. R.A.) remnants of lacquer, nearly very fine or better (2) £140-£180

John Beal was born in Dunster, Somerset, and attested for the Royal Artillery at Dartmouth in July 1876. He served with the Royal Artillery in Egypt, 8 August - 19 October 1882 (entitled to Khedive’s Star 1882). He was awarded the L.S. & G.C. in 1895, and discharged 12 July 1897, having served for 14 years and 266 days. Beal was subsequently an Out Pensioner at Chelsea Hospital.
