Charles Frederick Bilverstone was born in Little Cressingham, Norwich, and attested for the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. He served with them during the Great War on the Western Front from 10 August 1914, and was killed in action whilst serving as an Acting Sergeant in the 182nd Company, Machine Gun Corps on 8 August 1916. He has no known grave, and is commemorated on the Loos Memorial, France.
