A German Second World War Knight’s Cross Recommendation Document. A large A4 size document of 12 pages recommending the award of the Knights Cross to Alfons Vonier a Hauptmann and Staffel Kapitan of Luftwaffe Unit KG4. Awarded the German Cross 30.10.1941. To the interior of the document/folder a photograph of Vonier in his Luftwaffe uniform, hatless. The document is a résumé of his service where he completed over 100 missions over Great Britain with a full ink signature of General Field Marshall Kesselring. He eventually did not get awarded the Knights Cross but the German Cross in gold. Many references in the recommendation of places and names within the UK he bombed including Piccadilly Circus. A highly interesting document, good condition £70-£90
