Worcestershire Golf Club was founded in 1879 and an 18-hole course laid out on Poolbrook Common, near Malvern. In its early years the course played host to many well-known names and even the composer Sir Edward Elgar was a member. In the mid-1920s the Club purchased nearby Wood Farm and activities moved there in 1927
