Thomas George Dawes was ‘supposed drowned’ in the sinking of the R.M.S. Lusitania by a German submarine on 7 May 1915, with the loss of nearly 2,000 passengers and crew. Sold with copied crew list and Medal Index Card which is marked ‘Deceased’ and shows medals issued to his widow.
