M.C. London Gazette 18 February 1915:
‘For services rendered in connection with Operations in the Field.’

Henry John Hulse attested for the Army Service Corps and served with them initially as a Sergeant Major during the Great War on the Western Front from 16 August 1914, being awarded a scarce ‘Warrant Officer’s’ Military Cross the following year. He was commissioned Lieutenant and Quartermaster on 11 July 1915, and was promoted Captain and Quartermaster before the end of the War. Subsequently advanced Lieutenant-Colonel, he retired on account of ill-health on 4 September 1937.
