George Edmund Plumb was born on 31 October 1889 and attested for the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry on 10 December 1915, serving with the 5th Battalion during the Great War. He was discharged on 11 November 1917, due to sickness, aged 28, and was awarded a Silver War Badge No. 270023.
