Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, dated reverse, 1 clasp, Tel-El-Kebir (522. Pte. A. Whitehouse. 2/High: L.I.) edge bruising, nearly very fine £400-£500

A. Whitehouse attested for the Highland Light Infantry and served with the the 2nd Battalion in Egypt. Originally reported killed in action at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir, 13 September 1882, he was since confirmed as having survived the battle, but dangerously wounded, and returned to the U.K. in the Courland (London Gazette 6 October 1882 refers).
