Flora Cromer was amongst the biggest stars in London’s at the outbreak of the first world war. She was a singer, songwriter, mimic, comedian and pantomime artiste. She specialised in musical monologues such as the Kaisers Gramophone, advertised here. She continued performing it until at least 1919. Recordings of her performances survive, and are well worth a listen.
