James Martin was born at Darleston, near Walsall, Staffordshire, and attested for the Grenadier Guards at Derby on 26 August 1897. He served in South Africa from 26 October 1899 to 21 July 1902. He is also entitled to the King's South Africa medal. He was discharged on 25 August 1909. Sold with copied discharge papers and medal roll confirmation.
