Percy Blyth, a native of Beverley, Yorkshire, attested for the Yorkshire Regiment, and served with the 5th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front. He was killed in action on the Somme on 17 September 1916; he has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France.
