C.M.G. London Gazette 4 June 1917:
‘In recognition of valuable services rendered in connection with the War’.
Medaille d’Honneur des Epidimies London Gazette 25 February 1921 - an apparently unique award in gilt to the Royal Navy; three awards are recorded issued in bronze and four issued in silver.
George Thompson Bishop was born on 17 May 1965, and joined the Royal Navy in May 1892. He was promoted to Staff Surgeon in October 1903 and to Fleet Surgeon in May 1908. Promotion to Surgeon Captain came on his retirement in 1920.
