The Second Known Example

Roman Imperial Coinage, Carausius (286-93), Denarius, imp caravsivs p f avg, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. virtvs avg, lion with radiate crown walking left, thunderbolt in jaws, 4.54g (Shiel p.115, 92; RIC 591). Die flaw across obverse, otherwise good very fine, lightly toned over excellent fabric; the only specimen available to commerce, with the other known example being in the Ashmolean Museum
