Lanark Lanimer Day Medallions, Lanimer medallions, issued from 1893 to 1897, obverse portrait of Lanimer Queen with legend around, LANIMER DAY (her first name and number) QUEEN, date below bust, reverse Arms of Lanark and Legend SIGILLUM CIVITATIS LANARCAE around, all are Æ, 31mm, pierced, extremely fine, A Lanimer medallion of this issue is dated: 1897, Lanimer Medallions issued from 1898 to 1900, obverse has name of LORD CORNET and QUEEN in centre around ROYAL BURGH OF LANARK LANIMER DAY and date, reverse Arms of Lanark and Legend SIGILLUM CIVITATIS LANARCAE around, all are Æ,31mm, except for 1899 which is Al, extremely fine to good extremely fine, pierced, Lanimer medallions of this issue are dated, 1898, 1899, 1900, Lanimer Medallion issued from 1901 onward obverse The ROYAL BURGH OF Lanark 1140, Burgh arms in centre reverse legend LANARK LANIMER DAY (and date), name of LORD CORNET AND LANIMER QUEEN, later from 1904 the Provosts name was added and later still from 1960 the Lady performing the crowning ceremony was also added, since 1975 the Provosts name has not been included, no Lanimer Queen appointments were made during the war years 1915-1918 and 1940-1945, issued in white metal and alloys, all are 32mm., Lanimer medallions of this issue are dated: 1901, 1902, 1903, 1904, 1905, 1906, 1909, 1910, 1911, 1913, 1914, 1928, 1929, 1930, 1934, 1947, 1948, 1949, 1950, 1952, 1953, 1957, 1966, 1973, 1976, 1988, 1989 [31], extremely fine to almost as struck, all pierced except 1949 (£150-200)
