Harry Charles was born in Histon, Cambridgeshire. He attested for the Suffolk Regiment at Bury St. Edmunds in December 1894, and served with the Regiment in South Africa from February to September 1902 (service papers erroneously give additional clasp entitled to ‘Cape Colony’, but this at variance with medal roll and medal). Charles was discharged on 3 December 1906, having served 12 years with the Colours.
Sold with copied service papers.
