David II (1329-1371), Second coinage, Class A, Groat, class A1, Edinburgh, mm. cross pattée, small young bust, tressure of six arcs, trefoils in spandrels, rosette stops, ornate v in david, 4.59g/11h (SCBI 35, 361, same obv. die; B 13, fig. 251, same obv. die; S 5092). Good very fine and toned but some double striking and haymarking on King’s face, rare £300-£400
