One officer and 23 other ranks of the South Staffordshire Regiment, were present at Abu Klea in the Mounted Infantry Camel Regiment.

Charles Bayliss was born in the town of Stourbridge, Worcestershire, sometime in 1861. He enlisted into the South Staffordshire Regiment on 8 December 1880, being discharged on 5 December 1892, on completion of his first period of limited engagement. Sold with confirmation and eleven pages of copied service papers.
