Caqué (2), in silver and bronze, bust of Napoleon III left, rev. legend within and around wreath, edges named (Henry Battersby), both 51mm [2]. Extremely fine and practically as struck; in original red fitted case of issue [this a little distressed], named to the recipient (£50-80)

The medals are in a fitted case with an additional space which would also have originally held a smaller [35mm] gold medal. Henry Battersby (1808-68) was a member of the Battersby family of Loughbawn, co. Westmeath, and of Newcastle House, Oldcastle, co. Meath.
