Believed to be Satal Sing Bohora who entered the 44th Gurkha (Rifle) Regiment of Bengal Infantry as a Sepoy on 20 July 1864. He was promoted to Jemadar on 1 November 1883 and to Subadar on 25 March 1891. According to the Indian Army List he served on the N.-E. Frontier of India, Bhutan, 1864-66 (Medal and clasp); S.-E. Frontier of India, Looshai, 1871-72 (Clasp); N.-E. Frontier of India, Naga Hills, 1879-80 (Clasp); Burma, 1885-87 and 1887-89 (2 Clasps); N.-E. Frontier of India, Manipur, 1891 (Clasp); and in the Abor Expedition, 1894. He was awarded the Second Class of the Order of British India, with the title of “Bahadur”, on 9 October 1896.
