Frank Dawson served during the Great War as a Private in the 1/4th Battalion, Queen’s Own Royal West Kent Regiment on the North West Frontier of India (not entitled to a Victory Medal), and saw further service during the Third Afghan War. He was awarded the Territorial Force Efficiency Medal per Army Order No. 23 of 1 February 1920, and was discharged on 31 March 1920.
