George Peel was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in the Surrey Yeomanry (T.F.) on 6 March 1915; Lieutenant, July 1917; attached R.F.C. early 1918 and Act. Captain, R.A.F., April 1918; returned to the Territorial Force Establishment in 1919, Royal Corps of Signals, 26th (London) Signal Coy. T.A.; became Lieutenant Colonel in November 1938 and was released from service in 1944.
