D.C.M. London Gazette 31 May 1916 ‘For conspicuous gallantry. When attached to an infantry force previous to an assault he voluntarily went back several hundred yards under very heavy fire to bring up reinforcements. He was wounded in the head and arm, but got through and the reinforcements were brought up.’
