This lot was sold as part of a special collection, Naval Medals from the collection formed by Captain W. A. Tinlin, M.C., late 14th London Regiment (1880-1965).

There are three men with these names shown in the Admiralty rolls, all of them, remarkably, for Copenhagen 1801. Two were Landsmen, aboard the Edgar and Amazon, and the third a Private Royal Marines aboard the Edgar.
