Sidney John Straw was born in Woolwich, Kent on 3 June 1895. An Ironmonger’s Assistant by occupation, he enlisted into the Royal Marines on 26 August 1912. A career serviceman, he was discharged in June 1934 but was mobilized from the reserve in September 1938. He was released from service in November 1945. Sold with copied service paper.
