Leonard Lucius Edwin Barratt enlisted into the ranks of the 15th London Regiment in August 1914, being wounded in action on two occasions (gunshot wound, foot, 25 May 1915 and gunshot wound, right shoulder, 7 June 1917) He received his commission into the same regiment in May 1918, before being demobilised in May 1919.
