B.E.M. London Gazette 14 October 1943. ‘No.1643775 Sergeant George Adamson, Royal Regiment of Artillery (Ashton-under-Lyne)’.
Recommendation states: ‘Sergeant Adamason has commanded a detachment defending Ta Kali Aerodrome since March 1942. His position being in close proximity to the dispersal area which on numbers of occasions has been the centre of attack, and many bombs have fallen close to his gun. Sergeant Adamson has, at all times, displayed the highest qualities of leadership and his personal example of coolness and courage has been an inspiration to his detachment. Upon an occasion when his equipment was damaged and casualties caused by bombs, Sergeant Adamson, by his coolness, pluck and detirmination, maintained the highest standard of morale in his detachment’.
