Operational Service Medal 2000, for Sierra Leone (Stwd. B. G. J. Winton, RFA), in card box of issue, extremely fine £350-400

Brian George John Winton was born in the New Forest, Hampshire, on 17 January 1960. He served as a Steward in the Royal Fleet Auxiliary, 1998-2003. He served aboard R.F.A. Fort George, March-October 2000. In March the ship assisted with the international flood relief operations in Mozambique - her helicopters bringing food, fuel and equipment to isolated villages. After this she was part of a task force sent to Sierra Leone, lending support to British operations to restore stability to the country. Sold with a photocopy of the the recipient’s Record of Sea Service and other copied research.
