Guy Preston Darwell was born in 1897. During the Great War he served in the Border Regiment before receiving a commission in the 3/153rd Rifles. Post-war he served in Iraq, December 1919-November 1920. Attesting for service with the South African Forces in February 1940, Darwell served as a Major with the Rand Light Infantry in Egypt and Libya, 1940-41. He then served with the 6th Battalion Rajputana Rifles in India. Major Darwell returned to Johannesburg, South Africa, after being discharged in India in August 1945. Sold with some copied research.
