John Reynolds-Peyton was appointed a Midshipman on 15 May 1914, promoted to Sub-Lieutenant in November 1916, an Acting Lieutenant from January 1918 and Lieutenant in Janaury 1918. As a Lieutenant aboard the destroyer Ambuscade, he died of influenza and pneumonia on 4 November 1918, aged 22 years. He was the son of James and Alice Reynolds-Peyton of 37 Augusta Gardens, Folkestone, Kent. He was buried in Windsor Cemetery, Berkshire. Sold with copied research and copied photographs on the vessels on which he served.
