Sydney Tweedie was born in Shanghai c.1896. In 1901, as a Scholar, aged 5, he was living with his family at Oak Tree Villas, Thames Ditton, Surrey. In 1913 he was listed as an Assistant at Butterfield and Swire. In 1917 he is shown as a 2nd Lieutenant with the Chinese Labour Corps. On 15 July 1918 he was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in Royal Air Force and was employed as an Observer, being placed on the Unemployed List on 24 June 1919. In 1923 Tweedie was listed as an Assistant with Thomson Brothers and Bell (Accountants) and in 1940 he was employed in the Accounts Department of the China Printing and Fishing Co. Ltd., Shanghai. Sold together with a Shanghai Volunteer Corps cap badge. With some copied research.
