20th ‘Halton Battalion’ Lorne Rifles Regiment of Canadian Militia, a fine selection of badges covering the period c1890-1914 comprising three glengarry badges, one officer’s and two other ranks of ovate thistle spray form with strap ‘Lorne Rifles’ and ‘20’ in the centre, all die-stamped - the officer’s in blackened brass with silver plated ‘20’, the other ranks in blackened brass with gilt wash ‘20’; a KC blackened brass helmet plate, eight pointed star with central ‘20’ and circle ‘Canadian Militia’; a silver plated ‘20’ numeral undress hat badge; two white metal KC glengarry badges c1902-14, KC over crossed rifles, maple sprays, seated lion and scrolls ‘Halton Rifles’ ‘Canada’ ‘Pro Domo Et Patria’ and the numerals ‘20’, lug fasteners by Gaunt Montreal; three pairs of corresponding collar badges, officer’s silver plate and bronze and o/r white metal; five further pairs of collar badges of different format, KC over maple sprays with circle ‘Lorne Rifles’ and central ‘20’ mainly by ‘Scully Montreal’ (one lug missing, one replaced), good overall condition (23) £180-220
