Charles Rogers was born on 13 May 1921, and joined the Territorial Army in early 1938 and served during the Second World War with the Lancashire Fusiliers. After the war, and over 9 years in the T.A., he became a Regular and served inn the ranks of the Royal Scots Fusiliers for 16 years 345 days. After the amalgamation of the R.S.F. with the H.L.I., Rogers became R.Q.M.S. of the 1st Battalion, Royal Highland Fusiliers, in which regiment he was granted a Short Service commission as a Lieutenant (Quartermaster) in November 1963. He was promoted to Captain (Quartermaster) in November 1965 and retired in April 1968. He afterwards held a brief appointment as a Captain in the Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers (Militia), T.A.V.R., but resigned his commission in October 1968. Sold with full research.
