Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, 1 clasp, Suakin 1885, naming almost completely erased but discernable as ‘Capt. W. H. Sawyer, Rl. Lanc. R. D.A.A. & Q.M.G.’ medal otherwise good very fine £80-120

Captain W. H. Sawyer served at Suakin as Deputy Assistant Adjutant and Quartermaster General in the Intelligence Department. He was also entitled to the medal for Afghanistan 1878-80, where he served with the Transport Department, and the Q.S.A. with 3 clasps and K.S.A. for service in the Press Censor’s Department during the Boer war.
