Vernette Trosper Landers, DDG, LFWLA, LPIBA, MOIF, IOM (1912-2005), World Poet Laureate and International Woman of the Year, together with her husband Newlin Jewel Landers (1906-90), gave their name to the town of Landers, California. Born in Lawton, Oklahoma, her mother was in vaudeville and the family moved to Hollywood in the 1920s. Further details of her career are sold with the lot
