Summers first appears in Thacker’s Indian Directory in 1905, when he is listed as a Fitter-in-Charge employed by the Rohilkhund and Kumaon Railway Company Limited, and more precisely in the company’s Locomotive and Carriage Department at Mailani, Bareilly. Moving to Kasganj in 1910, and to Lucknow as a Foreman in 1918, he appears to have left the company’s employ around 1920. He was awarded his Indian Volunteer Force Long Service Medal in IAO 292 of 7 June 1915; sold with related research.
