Robert Graham was born in Halifax, West Yorkshire. He enlisted into the Army on 7 September 1811. He was discharged on 28 February 1816, aged 25 years, as a consequence of ‘sickness in the Peninsula, and from a wound received at Waterloo’ (wounded arm).
