The Crimean War medal to Private Robert Frazer, 57th Regiment, who was killed in action in the first attack on the Redan, 18 June 1855, when the 57th formed the left column of the main storming party

Crimea 1854-56, 2 clasps, Inkermann, Sebastopol (R. Frazer, 57th Regt.) officially impressed naming, original ribbon, minor edge bruising and handling marks, otherwise good very fine £600-700

Private Robert Frazer was killed in action in the first attack on the Redan, 18 June 1855. Four hundred men of the 57th formed the left column of the main storming party led by Colonel Shadforth. The assault was a complete disaster with men scythed down by concentrated Russian artillery crossfire. The 57th had 22 killed including Colonel Shadforth, and a further 93 wounded.
