Sir William Alexander, 1st Bt Alexander of Belcamp (1743-c. 1820), a former Lord Mayor of Dublin, established his bank in 1810. Among his partners were his son William John Alexander, who died in 1856, and, later, two of his grandsons, William John Alexander Jr (1797-1873) and Robert du Pre Alexander (1802-74). The bank failed in June 1820
