Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 3 clasps, Relief of Kimberley, Paardeberg, Driefontein (5630 Pte. T. Griffiths, Welsh Regt.) nearly extremely fine £200-250

Private T. Griffiths was killed in action during the ultimately successful battle to capture the Boer positions at Driefontein on 10 March 1900. The Times History of The War in South Africa states ‘Under a tremendously heavy fire the Welsh pushed forward by short rushes. They suffered considerable losses, and by the time the companies on the left had got within 600-800 yards of the foot of the main ridge their advance was stayed.’
