(97779 C.S.Mjr., R.G.A.); Meritorious Service Medal, G.V.R. (97779 A.R.S. Mjr., 27/H.A.G. R.G.A.) together with a 1914-15 Star named to a Gunner R.F.A. and a name erased Victory Medal, contact marks, therefore good fine or better (6) £180-220

Served in Northern Nigeria 1902 as Sergeant with No.1 Battery, Northern Nigeria Regiment. The roll shows two Captains, in addition to Sergeant Rae, the remainder being native troops. He served in France from September 1915 and was awarded the M.S.M. London Gazette 1 January 1918, when serving with 27 Heavy Artilley Group R.G.A.
