Sergeant Frederick Ronald Westall’s date of death is given as 16 December 1943 whilst serving with No. 101 Squadron, Royal Air Force. He is buried at Lemsterland (Lemmer) General Cemetery, Netherlands.

101 Squadron served throughout the Second World War, attacking numerous targets in Germany and italy, including the 1,000 bomber raids on Cologne, Essen and Bremen. Twenty of its Lancaster’s took part in the epic raid on Peenemunde.
