British Provincial, Essex, Chelmsford, Essex Bank, Five Pounds, 28 July 1882, no. 69810, for Sparrow, Tufnell & Co, right side of note only (Outing 484V; Grant 729G); together with a letter from G.J.R. Gwynne dated 17 March 1884, addressed to the bank, confirming that the other half had been lost in the post, that payment of Five Pounds would be honoured and agreeing indemnity against any further costs [2].
