John Frederick Herr died on active service in Burma on 7 April 1944, while serving in 58 Field Regiment, Royal Engineers. He was 27 years of age and is buried in Imphal War Cemetery; the above described forwarding box is addressed to ‘Mrs. M. K. Ellis, 61, South Norwood Hill, London, S.E. 25’.
