The S.S. Mahseer, a cargo liner of 7,911 tons, was built in 1925 by Charles Connell & Co. Ltd., Glasgow, for Brocklebanks Ltd. of Liverpool. The ship, en route from India to London, loaded with 3,007 tons of steel, 1,759 tons of cotton, 300 tons of copper and 4,355 tons of general cargo, was sunk by a magnetic mine in the Barrow Deep in the Thames Estuary, 18 October 1941. The crew of 97, including 7 gunners, were all saved. With some copied research.
