Dgns.) engraved naming, no suspension, disk only, this originally fitted within an ornate silver swivel mount, originally with a pin fitting (this now lacking), edge pierced obliterating ‘T’ of ‘Hunter’, scuff marks elsewhere around edge, contact marks, edge bruising, good fine £100-150
Serjeant Peter Hunter, 1st Dragoons, was entitled to the Crimea Medal with clasps for Balaklava, Inkermann and Sebastopol. the Turkish Crimea Medal and Army L.S. & G.C. In The Charge of the Heavy Brigade, by Roy Dutton, he is listed as ‘Probably rode in the Charge’. With copied discharge papers and roll extracts.
