Edith Mary Hodgson trained at the Chorlton Infirmary and enrolled in the Princess Christian Army Nursing Service Reserve in August 1900. She served in South Africa with No. 8 Stationary Hospital at Bloemfontein. During the Great War she did not go overseas but served as Superintendent of the Rusthall Auxiliary Hospital, Tunbridge Wells.
