D.C.M. London Gazette 30 June 1915 ‘For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty at Kruisstraat on the 14th and 15th March 1915, in repeatedly mending the telephone lines under fire. Also near Ypres on the 22nd and 27th of April 1915 when Sergeant Faithfull remained out day and night laying and repairing lines continuously under fire. To do this he had to carry heavy reels of wire several miles on foot, but was able to acccomplish his task.’
